Il-76MD-90A
The upgraded version of the Il-76MD-90A is made from domestic components and equipped with Russian systems and equipment. The changes include a reinforced wing, a new power plant, a reinforced chassis with a more energy-intensive braking system, and new digital onboard radio-electronic equipment with on-screen indication. The improvements have increased the aircraft's efficiency: the range and safety of flights have increased, as well as the payload that can be transported. The Il-76MD-90A allows solving most military transport tasks at a qualitatively new level.
If necessary, the Il-76MD-90A can be equipped with fire-fighting equipment, as well as medical modules for evacuating victims in emergency situations. Re-equipment can be carried out in airfield conditions.
There is an opportunity for further effective modernization of the aircraft and the creation of a family of special-purpose vehicles on its basis.
The aircraft is being created in cooperation with leading Russian developers of systems and equipment, with the largest volume of components supplied by enterprises of the Rostec State Corporation.

Il-78M-90A
The Il-78M-90A is equipped with PS-90A-76 engines with an increased bypass ratio and increased takeoff thrust, a modernized chassis with a more energy-intensive braking system, new digital onboard radio-electronic equipment with a screen indicator, which reduces the workload on the crew and improves flight safety. As a result, the new machine will provide for the transfer of more fuel at long ranges, and new unified outboard refueling units will reduce the time of refueling aircraft in the air.
The Il-78M-90A is capable of refueling one heavy bomber or two frontline fighters in the air. On the ground, it can refuel up to four aircraft simultaneously.
The distinctive feature of the new tanker is its convertibility. After removing the fuel equipment, it can be used as a military transport aircraft. The Il-78M-90A can be equipped with fire-fighting equipment or medical modules for evacuating victims in emergency situations. Re-equipment can be carried out in airfield conditions.
