Special Cutters

A special place among SKIF special-purpose milling cutters is occupied by large-sized milling cutters for milling engine crankshafts, turbine rotors and marine mechanisms. The milling cutters are manufactured with a diameter of up to 1800 mm and a height of up to 630 mm. The unique technology for producing these milling cutters is based on many years of experience of the German company Heinlein, one of the world's leading manufacturers of such tools. Special large-sized milling cutters for crankshafts have two basic designs: cassette with fastening of cutting plates in cassettes through a hole and wedge fastening of plates without a hole. In addition, SKIF produces special milling cutters for the automotive and aviation industries, milling cutters for processing rail crossings. The designs of the milling cutters are based on the use of standard elements of SKIF milling cutters from the general catalog and make up about 40% of the total output.
