W. A. Hammond DRIERITE Co. LTD. is an American manufacturer of anhydrous calcium sulfate desiccants, founded in 1934. The company originated as Hammond Sulphite & Tablet Co. in Cincinnati, Ohio, established in 1882, which initially produced paper products and chemicals. In 1912, the company introduced Drierite, a desiccant for laboratory use. DRIERITE is a low-cost, all-purpose anhydrous calcium sulfate used in desiccators, U-tubes, drying columns, drying tubes and large drying cabinets to dry air and gases. The product is available in regular and indicating varieties, with indicating DRIERITE impregnated with cobalt chloride that changes from blue to pink when exhausted. The company is BBB accredited and complies with the Buy American Act and Berry Amendment.
